Hi guys,

This is my first post, but I have been lurking for years. I have joined because I have finally decieded to investigate some of the key questions for me regarding hairloss. I have no idea if they will lead me to a cure, but I am curious.

I am in a job (please dont ask what) where I must keep confidentaility but also am exposed to lots of people.

I decieded to try and find a replationship between fore arm hair and scalp hair. My sample size is 100. I could have increased it but it could have gone on forever.

Here are the results.

Group A 69% reponders aged 20 - 30 approx
Group B 20% 30 - 50
Group C 11% 50 +

Group A results AGE 20 - 30

64 % "appeared" (this is a big leap as they might be covering it well) had no discernable hairloss.

Of these 44 people -

11% had strong arm hair

77% had slight arm hair

12% had no arm hair

Group B Results AGE 30 - 50

45% had no discernable hairloss (see above)

Of these :

5% had strong arm hair

87% had slight arm hair

8% had no arm hair

Group C Results AGE 50 +

32% had no no discernable hairloss (see above)

Of these :

2% had strong arm hair

91% had slight arm hair

7% had no arm hair

Apologies if these figures arnt quite accurate. I have rounded everything up or down and it has led to a few minor deviations. Please don't ask me how I got these results. The sample isnt big enough to be particulalry accurate. It doesnt take into account anything other than age, sex (m) and arm hair.

Your key question then is whether people with hair loss have more body hair or not. This is a topic often discussed here. In general, yes, people with hair loss tend to have significantly more body hair. A fairly well established hypothesis already.

Group A Results
64% had no discernable hairloss.
Group B Results
45% had no hairloss
Group C Results
32% had no hairloss
All three groups had no hair loss? Why not include a group with hair loss and compare? Im not sure I understand why you took three groups and differentiated between "No discernable hair loss", "No Hair Loss", and "No Hair Loss".

If all you think about curing hairloss is the big three - I don't want to hear it!
Translation: I know there are clinically proven products out there that work for 90% of people when used together, but I dont like hearing that kind of junk!

Apologies about the signiture ! I don't mean for most people, its just three years on minxodil, finasteride and nizoral didnt really do much. Actually, I credit nizoral with a little bit, but not much. I'll chnage that signiture ASAP.

As for my survey. I never thought to look at the different types of fore arm hair in balding men. I cant beleive I overlooked that. I'll start again and post the new results in a few weeks.

i have hair on my arms like any other man but its not to the point where its like a jungle like some italians i've seen. man if your statictis are true then i think i have fairly good chance of keeping my hair!

i just have a question. like i said above i have hair on my arms and legs and body but its not thick at all, its very short and fine but still somewhat noticeable if you concentrate on it.
so im asking will it thicken up to the point where i can no longer see my skin anymore or will it just grow a little bit? im 19 only and still wondering how much time left until my body is finished developing and how much longer my arm, legs, body hair will be growing

Same case here....except my body hair was with me since young...When male pattern baldness started i had armpit and a very little formation of chest hair...I am 24..Full scale male pattern baldness started at 22

My dad is as bald as a coot and has hardly any body hair. I on the other hand have a reasonably hairy chest and have what I would describe as normal hair on my arms and legs.
