So I'm 19! Father is bald but his younger brother (late 40's) is a Norwood three and been that way for years! Some men on father side is bald while the other half are not! Mothers father was bald at age like 50 but all 5 of my mother brothers (ranging from age 30 to 50) have no hair loss! Started to see hair loss at 18 with receding temples but got a short haircut at 19 and realized it was pretty bad! Went to dermatologist and did a scalp biopsy! Dermatologist said she was shocked to see a receding hairline at this time because I have such minimal androgenetic alopecia in my body that I shouldn't be getting it! Idk! I concluded with her stress and lifestyle did this as I was working a full time job with a full time school career! Relied heavily on Red Bull and soda and barely ate! Also even when I was tired af I would work i out in the gym for gains lol! She Recommended minoxidil but never used it! Before this I had slight tellogen effevium from stress and lack of eating for a year! What do you guys think? Should I take more action and wait and see what's up! Btw I'm a Norwood 2 at age 19

I'm curious, how did your dermatologist determine how much androgenetic alopecia you have in your body, and what is specifically measured that correlates to the number?

Honestly not sure! I did a scalp biopsy and she cut the piece of my scalp right next to the thin hairline (right temple)! Results took two weeks and it shows the type of hair loss I have! The test showed that I have more tellogen effevium occurring (from my Huge crash diet) and minimal andrgenetic alopecia (her words)! Made sense as no one really is bald in my family (close blood related family) except for my father! Ask your dermatologist about the scalp biopsy! It'll give you psychological comfort knowing what's going on lol
