Hey I'm 22 yo my hairline started receding very slowly last year, I added finasteride 1mg 7 months ago. Well my corners have kept on receding and I fear I'll lose my hairline. I'm Norwood 1.5 right now. What should I do?
Plus I've read at many places that zinc accelerates thinning is it true? I've been taking zinc (20mg) and biotin supplements (0.5mg) daily for like 7 months aswell could that somehow have sped up the thinning?

Where did you hear zinc is bad for hair? Can you post a link?
The unfortunate reality of finasteride is in many cases it fails to stop the balding process. It didn't stop my balding. Not a lot of people are successful stopping male pattern baldness using finasteride alone, even fewer regrow. You will need to use stronger treatments to hopefully stop the balding. I'm on finasteride, minoxidil and estrogen and I'm still losing my hair.. What it takes to stop this I don't know.

It's true that many people's balding is more aggressive than others, but I think in most reputable studies it's something like 80%+ have regrowth, so 1 in 5 or 20/100 people is still a lot.

It took me 7 months to see improvement on finasteride. I did not continue to visibly recede though in the time building up to that

I take a zinc supplement, and it has not kept me from having hair gains

Hey man, mind posting pics?
These are images from December 2016 to pic taken at the end of January 2017. I noticed minor hairline recession in June then it progressed a bit till august. I went to doctor in august and was prescribed finasteride, zinc and biotin supplements. I've been taking finasteride continuously for last 7 months and supplements as well but i stopped taking supplements in like december properly and went on and off on them. I think I regrew some hair so far. I went off supplements for like a month in February and lost some hair at hairline. Although so far I've only seen my hair getting thicker and healthier on supplements but I stopped taking them as I rode somewhere that it could accelerate thinning. What do you guys think? Am I maintaining?
BTW the extra hair on my right hairline are juvenile hair that I have since puberty.

This link defines zinc increases dht significantly which in turn causes hair thinning.

We have the exact same hairline and im 21. finasteride doesnt work for everybody. Chances are since we started receding very young we have an agressive case. I bet ur dad balded young too?

No he had a full head of hair through out his life but now diffusing slowly all over since like 4-5 years. Early balding doesn't run in my family, my uncles have full heads of hair on father's side while my maternal grandfather still has a amazing NW1 hairline which looks way better than mine. No one in my family started balding below 30.
