Hairline Receding (looking For Advice)

Hi everyone, I’ve recently been reading some of the info/threads on here and was recommended I post to get some opinions on my own situation. I’m 23 and although I’ve always had a pretty pronounced widows peak, it does seem to be receding as far as I can tell.

I’m not sure how much this matters, but I have experienced a pretty traumatic and stressful year and I am only now noticing the recession, but I feel like that’s probably not the reason.

Anyway, I would be very grateful for some opinions/advice on my hairline. I wrinkled my forehead in the images since I’ve read that can be used as a starting point. Thanks in advance!

The actual hairline looks fine but yeah definitely thinning for whatever reason.

Honestly don’t know how to advise you. If it is down to stress you don’t want to be jumping on serious medication like Finasteride though you could potentially lose ground if you don’t?

Could maybe try something like minoxidil first but bear in mind you’ll probably shed initially before growing it back so don’t stop using it in fear.

Alternatively could go down the natural remedy route with rosemary oil and vitamins, supplements like saw palmetto which will halt some of the DHT which is potentially causing your hair loss.

Microneedling is supposed to be quite effective, especially in conjunction with minoxidil or rosemary oil use.

Could be worth waiting out for the Trinov Brotzu lotion coming out in December or the Zinc Thymulin lotion from Dr Vickers might help.

Hope this info is of some use to you and I hope you regrow your hair I really do. I f*****g hate this disease.

Thanks for the reply. That’s my thinking as well, if it is just stress related (which I still don’t think is too likely), I don’t want to jump into anything.

Maybe I’ll try some of the natural remedies while I wait a bit longer to see what happens. If it gets worse I can jump onto Finasteride and hopefully have some success with that.

You’ve also got me looking into Trinov Brotzu as well which I didn’t know about. Seems like there’s a lot of hype around it so that’s probably something to keep an eye on. Do you have an opinion on it?

Yeah I didn’t think so.

My dad has a hairline similar to this:

He says he’s had that since his mid to late 20s.

So your dad is not bald at all then? The thing is you have some thinning on your hair so I do think it will progress past where you are now over time. The guy in that picture has no thinning on his scalp which means its likely that the rest of his follicles arent as prone to miniaturization. A lot of guys do take the same hairloss as their dads so you might be okay but considering that there is very obvious thinning I would probably take finasteride.
