Hi, I don't know if these will work or not, but here are some pics of my hairline. I'm 23 and I thought my hairline was normal even though I thought I've been losing my hair for about 3 yrs now, however recently it's seemed to me that it's starting to get bad, espically on the right side, I believe I took most of the pics on that side to show it, what do you guys think I should start to use there, I know it's only going to get worse but is it starting to look bad now? I think it looks horrible. The last 2 pics are what I look like when I wear my hair like I always do, to look at me like that you can't really tell anything but it's pretty obvious when I pull my hair back as I did in those pics. I was growing it out to start wearing it in a ponytail but I think it looks so bad with it back as you can tell by the pics that I don't think I'm going to be able to do that and feel confident about it.
Anyways, any help and or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you want my brutally honest opinion, I think you need to seriously shave the hell out of your head. That long girly hair of yours kinda doesn't fit the facial hair you got. You'd prolly look real good with a buzz cut instead.

Now to your question. Yes you can save it. Get on propecia, minoxidil, and nizoral. If the thinning isn't horrible, you can prolly get away with just propecia and nizoral though. All informaion for these products are a click or 12 away.

Good luck.

Well thanks for your opinion, but I'm gonna grow and enjoy my long girly hair before it all falls out.
Thanks for your reply though, I didnt wanna start on propecia because I dont think itll help where i'm thinning i was thinking along the lines of restoration in that area around the hairline but im not sure yet

Hi,

As per the last conversation, I think in RL people are often afraid to give an honest opinion as they worry about what other people might think..... but honestly, that hair style of yours is horrible =( I mean you look like a very good looking guy, and I can tell if you had some modern hair style you would look great... maybe a buzz cut or just something with short hair dude.... but that's just my opinion. And yes of course, get on propecia. Oh and that mustache has got to go too. I think in the 1700's you would get all the girls but not now..... sorry. Good luck.

I'm sorry, I wasn't insulting you. Just being honest. You are on a cosmetic forum, and we comment on such things. Wear your hair long, I'll still be able to eat my corn flakes in the morning without being upset.

But you need to grow a thick skin because criticism is not always bad.

Agreed. Your hair looks like it belongs on a Muppet or a Shitzu climbed on top of your head and died.

So far thats 3 for 3 on the hairstyle looking crappy. Are you seeing the pattern here? Try not to get defensive as were just trying to give you some advice on improving your look, but ifd thats what you like, so be it.

Good luck.

HAH!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I can't resist.

Back in 1992 when This hair style was cool... i had the exact same one.

Here it is folks. Me at age 19. 10 years ago....

Can you guess which one is me? Can you guess who I wanted to be as a Teenager? I kept my hair a lot dirtier and .. uh ... more uh ... "grungy" ... to coin a phrase... than Chris does ... This was after a wash though, and the picture was intended to be funny. Enough disclaimers? We used to sit in coffee houses with a bunch of girls who looked like hot Alanis Morrisette's, listening to poetry, with candles lit, and taking about how we were too cool for society and hated everything that sold out for money, and they used to "pet" my hair the whole time and tell me how nice it was. Again, this is back when this hairstyle was cool.

Why you guys gotta hate on me? I come here for serious advice, ya my hair may look like sh*t now, but I'm on the dreaded "in between stage" because I'm trying to grow my hair out and most everyone who does has to go thru this bad stage.
You guys must forget I have feelings too, and I never dreamed I'd get these kinda responses from my seemingly innocent post asking for help, my feelings were kinda hurt. I've had short hair all my life so I figured just once before it all falls out I'll try to grow it long, that's not a crime, even if it doesn't look the greatest right now
I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes, but I'm sure most of you since you're here are bald, or balding, or noticeably balding o0r whatever, so when someone comes along and puts a pic up and they look like they're still ok of course you're gonna hate on him , i mean i do the same and im sure i'll do it when i get worse, which is why i came here in the first place to try to avoid reaching that point .
But thanks for your great advice guys, Im sure glad to see this board is full of professional ppl who come here to help ppl only, I very much appreciate it. Happy Holidays

He didn't say your hair looks like sh*t, he said he didn't like the hair style. Your hair still has decent density and you are not receding 2 bad. We just think it might look a little better short. Hair wise your not in 2 bad shape.

And most of the guys on this forum are not bald. Most of the guys on this forum have your situation. My advice 2 you.

Finasteride
Xandrox 5%
Nizoral 2%

Nano Shampoo (1 bottle 4 times week lasts 4 months)
Folligen Conditioner (Lasts over 4 months one bottle)

I had good results with the same regimen. Your hair can look a lot better in a couple months. Keep us posted.

Aside from your hair *STYLE* ...

At this point you would be fine to use Propecia 1mg daily with Nizoral all by itself. You should do fine if you ride out any unexpected sheds (well now they should be considered expected).

Propecia alone all by itself should be fine. You really don't need even 5 % minoxidil at this time in my opinion, let alone the mega ultra strength version found in Xandrox, or the very expensive nano shampoo or folligen conditioner. Propecia 1mg daily, Nizoral once every 3 days and whatever other shampoo you already use.

Propecia works in 83% of people to maintain or increase hair count all by itself. Start on it right away and dont look in the mirror again for at least 7 to 10 months. Im sure you will look the same or better at that time.

Thanks alot, I'll give that a shot. I notice everyone suggests I go on Propecia, I guess there's no avoiding that even thought I was hoping to. What kinda success did you have? I know getting regrowth around the hairline is the hardest, do you really think that stuff will work for me?

Hey dude I hope I didn't offend you with my post, I was poking fun at HairLossTalk.com :p From a girl's point of view, you do have very nice hair. I'm jealous actually! My hair hasn't been as nice looking as yours in a long, long time.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do :)

I was in your boat a couple months ago, although I had only a very slight temporal recession. I decided to go with Propecia, Nizoral, and Xandrox instead of just Propecia + Nizoral.

Applying minoxidil isn't a big deal for me and I didn't want to risk propecia alone not doing the job. 6-12 months down the road it might mean another inch off your hairline. Since you need to regrow a bit on the temples, I would go with the big 3.

But what you start with is what you have to stick with. You won't be able to tell how much either product has helped you a year later. That's the advantage of starting with finasteride first and reassessing 6+ months later. But you could also lose precious time in your battle. Depends if you just want to maintain or regrow a bit as well.

:freaked2: Wow. That's not too sweet dude. Is that supposed to be a mustache? And what's up with your 10 year old girl cut? If your hair is that straight, cut it short pronto. You don't even want to know what I could do with photoshop and that hairstyle.

Shave your face and wait a few years for it to hopefully get a whole lot thicker, or just shave period. Not all people can effectively grow facial hair. Besides, most girls I've known are not attracted to facial hair (it hurts). Shave your head. I guarentee you'll look 100 times better.

You have a certain type of face that matches a familiar profile. You know that guy from Six Feet Under, the dude Claire went out with who got all drugged up and ended up dying, well, you kinda look like him. He's a good looking guy, and he just has a small goatee and a buzzed head (maybe 1/4" buzz).

Do that, please. :hairy:
