Guys,

Within the last year, my hairline is getting thinner and going back further. I am 28 and things began going down hill in my early 20s. I have put up a good fight, and hope to for another couple of years.

I have attached two pics. One with my hair combed back and one with my hair combed forward, which masks my hairline pretty well for now.

What do you recommend?

My current regimine looks like this:

-Finasteride - 1/4 of a pill at night
-Rogain liquid - only on the hairline - once at night (I cant style my hair with this stuff in the morning) - Rogaine has however my my scalp dry and flakey around the hairline.
-Nizoral 1% - 1-2 times a week
-Ginger Shampoo - 1-2 times a week
-T-Gel - 1-2 times a week
-Jason Shampoo the rest of the time
-Udos Oil - taken 2-3 times a week-1 teaspoon

seems like ya doing all you can, maybe add a copper peptide but your hair doesnt look too bad at all.You are in a similar situation to me and the only treatment i can see winning back a hairline is a hair transplant !

Thanks for the great feedback. I do feel a little overwhelmed with all that was suggested, but will research those products.

For now, should I switch to the foam or drop the rogaine all together because it is making my hairline dry and flakey. I have only been using the rogaine for about a month, but as for the finasteride - about 7 years

arnica extract, skin needling, apple polyphenols, corosolic acid, green tea extract (EGCG), retin-A, raspberry ketone, carnitine tartrate, niacin, keratinocyte growth factor (from http://www.skinactives.com)

personally i'd lose the shampoos with SLS, and either buy Revita, or make my own ketoconazole shampoo. you can get coal tar extract from http://www.ucsf.edu/dpsl/coaltar.html

except for retin-a i've never heard about those products, sounds interesting can you be more specific about them?
thanks

Hmm not to sound rude, but I really think your in denial about your hairloss. The length your hair at this current time looks absoultely absurd. It would be blatantly obvious to everyone that your hiding something (or at least trying too). I really think you need to shave the head. Get off liquid minoxidil and get some of that Dr lee 15% stuff or some Rogaine Foam for your hairline. I would also strongly consider getting off finasteride and trying for something stronger like Dutas as it blocks both type 1 and type 2 reducterbase. Give it a good run for a year with a short hair cut, if you dont notice any improvement then I would look into a hair transplant. Just my 2 cents.

I have not judged anyone! Yes I have strong opinions on certain issues, but I respect everyones right to believe in what they want. If anything it sounds like you're judging me right now.

Btw iam a nice guy :)

but im certainly in no rush to prove that to someone the likes of you!

Excuse me for being off-topic :$ , pd4pd i think you can get benefit from minoxidil, but you have to stick with it dude. Switch to foam or dr. lees 5% regular minoxidil and give it 1 yr and see how it goes...

guys,

after 8-10 years of worrying about my hair, i went ahead and buzzed it today. i must tell everyone, that it is the most liberating experience. no longer do i have to worry about the wind messing it up, or wearing hats, or going swimming, or the rain, etc. all that stuff made me freak out, not now.

i pulled the old comb forward for so long. i would use hair spray to keep it in place, i had most people fooled, but not me.
i would spend up to 1 hour trying to get it just right...not anymore.

i still plan to stay on propecia and maybe jumping to the foam to keep what i have.

again, i can not stress enough just buzzing it to guys who are in a similar situation as me.
