To give a bit of backstory, I'm currently 23 years old and I've always been embarrassed by my hairline. I think I messed it all up when I was a kid. Around 7-10 years old, I had an obsession with cutting things. I guess I got too influenced by women in magazines/tv/movies that I got frustrated that my hairline wasn't growing out as fast as the rest of my hair did. So, I just cut off my hairline. Stupid, stupid kid logic. Fast-forward 13-16 years later and it's still like this:

I figure my hairline might be just thin, but I'm not entirely sure. I haven't been to a hairdresser/salon since I was in high school and I had never thought to ask back then about it. I just always got haircuts with bangs to hide my hairline. Not really effective when you live in a windy city. When I look it up on the internet, many places say getting it cut helps growth. So, I've just been looking to go to a good salon around me that may help me, but I'm paranoid because I've had bad luck where the place did something quite different with my hair that I don't really like much. I've done a few oils here and there but nothing seems to make a difference. I've also asked a friend who's a hairdresser and she said that was just naturally how my hair is. If that's true, I would really like some tips on how to make myself not look as bald as I do when my hair gets pushed back or any kind of feedback helps. Thanks!
