been on proscar for around a year and a half now with exellent results on top. but my main area of hairloss was on my temples. with the left one being slightly more receded. a far as i can tell they hve just maintained although i think the right side might have shedded due to the once dailly application of spectral dnc. i dont mind my current hair, but not sure if taking just proscar will stop the receding. i;d be gutted if didn;t apply minoxidil and lost ground on the temples, but i also don;t want to rock the boat. any advice guys. cheers. this dilema is driving me mental. i'm guessing i'm norwood 2 not just mature hairline. i struggle with twice dailly appliation of minoxidil, do u think i shoud use foam?

how long have you been taking minoxidil for? i think if your hairline is bothering you so much that you should be taking minoxidil twice a day without fail as this is the drug that shows promise on the hairline for many people.

We have almost the same type of hairloss on the hairline (my lest corner is thinner too btw), i had very good results with minoxidil twice daily, and many ups and downs with sheds when i was getting lazy for small periods applying only once or skipping doses.

My advice is to keep consistent with the twice a day application as much as you can. If you can't tolerate two applications of liquid, try once liquid (night) and foam on the mornings. You could also try dr. lee's liquid minoxidil #500 it dries fast and is not greasy.

thanks jack82. think i,m going to go with the foam am liquid pm routine. this seems the most hasstle free. was just kinda scared off by the foam stories. if i knew for certain that my hair would stay the way it is just with proscar i would leave it, don't think i can take the chance as the some of my hairs look abit minaturised around the temples. hows your hairline looking these days. much regrowth?

i'm four years into treatments, i gained regrowth with minoxidil, i added finasteride later, and i've been maintaining, or losing at a very slow rate since then. I am still above baseline. I experienced a shed since the end of august but it seems to slow down. I think it's because i was applying rogaine only once in the summertime, it happens every year but it always comes back. I'm back on twice since last month. I believe that being consistent is the key (and that is what my Doctor advised me from the beginning).

I was in a dilemma with the foam too, but i decided that my regimen worked very good, and i didn't want to put anything at risk. If i couldn't stand the liquid anymore i would definitely go for the foam though.
