What do you tell the hair stylist/barber when you get yours?

My situation:
I still have a good head of hair, visually it's not really noticeable with the right haircut. I have the classic thinning on top (albeit not bad right now). Otherwise my hair looks same thickness overall, think it's a slow decline...

So... I sort of want to keep it as long as possible but at the same time keeping focus to the top of the hair so it looks thicker relatively. I'm just trying to think of 1) a style and 2) how to verbally describe it. I sometimes think barbers don't think about thinning hair and just cut as if you have a full head!

If you're thinning on top ask the barber to chip into your hair with his sissors which creates a rough jaggered, slightly uneven hair length which gives the illusion of more volume to your thinning top by increasing the diameter/surface area of the top of the cut hair.
