hair type changing?

Has anyone else noticed their hair type changing as male pattern baldness progresses? When I was little (pre-puberty), I had bone-straight hair, and when puberty hit my hair became extremely wavy, much to my dismay. Now, when the hair grows back after falling out (thinner than before, of course), it is much wavier (perhaps almost curly) than even during puberty. Has anyone else noticed this or had any other changes like this? If I hadn't already seen a dermatologist, I would have assumed it was a thyroid problem, but it apparently is not.

they say it is common for people with male pattern baldness to start having curly type hairs on their hairline but not the whole head that I'm aware of ( i assume from the attack of dht). Maybe this offers an explanation?

before puberty, my hair was poker-straight and fair/blonde. after, it was wavy and almost jet-black.

in the male pattern baldness areas, it seems to be slightly wavier.

i've heard that wavy hair is caused by the hair strand cross-section being elliptical rather than circular. I guess as the hair thins, this effect is more pronounced.

It may or may not change. Who knows, I'm just trying to see if there's a pattern to this yet.

Did any of you notice hair type changes after you went on finasteride or other DHT inhibitors? I'm trying to figure out what exactly was activating the curly hair gene... it must have something to do with testosterone as castration will revert your hair back to its childhood state (as well as halt balding). Not that I'm considering castration, I'd just like to know.
