Hair Type and male pattern baldness?

If you share the same hair type as your maternal grandfather (e.g. thin, light brown hair) and he reached NW3 later in his life, does it mean that you are more likely to follow his balding pattern than your father who has thicker dark hair but reached NW6 and went bald at an earlier age?

Basically, does the baldness gene tie in with the one that determines the ‘type’ of hair that you have?

If this is not proven scientifically, then does it tend to be the case?

It's been discussed on here before, and as far as we can tell, there's no real link. If you happen to have the same kind of hair it's only because, well, you're related. The genes for balding are not related to the genes for what type of hair you actually have.
