I know this probably sounds like a silly question from a rather naive individual, but couldn't all hair loss problems be eliminated with hair transplants?

By the way, don't get mad at me if that sounds stupid, I know little about it all.

Some can but it all depends on your degree of loss. I you're just in the early stages its better to try a regimen of meds than to go for surgery. But if your loss is more advanced or the treatments dont work for you then surgery is your option if you have the cash, but there are sacrifices to be made its not like going to the dentists.
Also if you have too much loss ie, NW7 then you dont have enough donor hair to transplant but also at this stage meds will do nothing for you either.

So all in all, if you're at an early stage of hair loss and the treatments haven't worked for you, but you have the cash, then it technically could be the ultimate cure?

Even if you get into a hair transplant, you need to continue using Rogaine and Propecia for the rest of your life... if you want to keep what's left in your head. Also Alvi Armani, recommends to use Rogaine to grow the transplanted hair.

So, no, a hair transplant doesn't cure this disease. It just adds hair to your head. But you need to continue on Propecia and Rogaine for the rest of your life.

Not to name that a hair transplant adds a big scar from ear to ear and for life. Scary.
