can you get a hair transplant if you have alopecia areata?

i get alopcia occasionally but it is very mild. i can go to the doctor and get it taken care of. they give me a cortisteroid injection and the hair regrows back in a few months time.

will having alopecia areata affect me getting a hair transplant?

Well considering alopecia is the reason most people get a hair transplant, I don't think having alopecia would prevent you from getting one. Many people try many different treatments before choosing the transplant surgery route. I think most people would be in the same boat as you in that they tried many other things. I wouldn't worry.
