hair transplant question

I have a question. My hairline is beginning to thin, and I was wondering if docs do transplanst without shaving the person's head, that is, can docs simply transplant hair into the places that are thinning without shaving a large area of the scalp?

I had quite a bit of hair when I had my transplbnt 2 years ago.

My Doctor never mentioned shaving

If your exisitng natural hair is that thick, I would be more concerned about shockloss. Have you read up on that?
