I am 22 years old and I have a receding hairline. My father started thinning in the front in his early 50′s and has a pretty decent head of hear. My mom’s father and brothers only experience a receding hairline and never had any hair loss in the crown area. I have very thick hair but the front has receded, am I a candidate for hair restoration?

So I started to notice my receding hairline when I was 18, and when I turned 21 it got a lot worse like a v- shape hairline. So I started using minoxidil on my hairline, understand that I have a lot of thick black hair and im not going bald, its just my hairline thats receding. So anyway I start using minoxidil and it went great for me I got my normal hairline back like when I was 15 and it was a huge confidence booster I was so happy. I remember getting my first shed on my hairline when I was in my second week of rogaine, but I didnt panic because they told if its not shedding its not working. But then after four months on rogaine I started noticing that my hairline was shedding again for the second time. And now I want to know if my hairs are coming back like the first time it shed or is it just gonna get worse for me again? But now thinking about it I just want to quit rogaine and get a hair transplant to avoid the life time supply of rogaine.

It's way too early, but you might try taking medications to keep what you have,
