Hair Transplant Consultation: My Unfortunate Experience

Before I start I'd like to mention I went there to help diagnose my hair loss not to get a hair transplant yet though I found out my back donor area hair is good if I ever decide to get one.

Does this sound like a normal experience?

They took pictures as soon as I got in there. Then I met with a consultant who told me it looks like I'm diffuse thinning from the pictures and that my temples are still good. He then stated I could get a hair transplant if I want or use their LLLT they have there.. When he looked at my hair through the microscope at the thin areas. I saw that my scalp was kind of waxy looking, didn't look exactly healthy. He found only a few miniturized hairs. He recommended getting antibacterial shampoo for my scalp, specifically the kind they sold there... He didn't really go into any extensive examining.
But here's the part that threw me off, he said "Weird thing is your hair looks healthy, but it is thin in density" When I asked if he was positive it was Androgenetic Alopecia he stuttered and let out a very unsure "..y-yeah.." and nothing more.

When I told him about having hypothyroidism in the past and random shedding, along with explaining life stressors while having anxiety and depression he just sort of shrugged it off.

When I told him I was using a 1% ketocanazole shampoo, specifically Regenpure he said he never heard of either of those things.
Another thing that bothered me was that, at 21 years old and nowhere near a final pattern, he was saying to get a haircut transplant if I could afford it.
At the end, he said to that I am guaranteed to maintain and regrow if I use their LLLT 1-2x a week. Some of the results on the pictures I was shown were different lighting and different lengths of hair.

It seriously began to feel as if I was dealing with a car salesman.

Is that how it usually is?

This place sounds completely legit

.....

Jk by the way. Anyone with credibility will likely agree that LLLT is garbage.

My suggestion is go to a dermatologist to get a diagnosis. Or if you're keen on seeing a hair specialist, do you research on here and make sure you see someone with a credible reputation.

This is the value of the consultation. It is to see if there is a good fit between you and them. Clearly, this is not the place for you, and you had a bad experience, but you learned a thing or two about how some of these places operate.
