Im 38 and have had thick hair till 6 months ago, I noticed thinning throughout whole top of scalp and sides, feels like going fully bald, not normal bald spot and receding. It seems that every day now its thinning so quickly. I tried using nioxin for 4 months and didnt seem to help, just made my scalp itchy and hair dry. I have been experiencing sore and itchy scalp the last couple months and have been using nizoral twice a week and finasteride daily but nothing seems to help. my hair seems to be on rapid cycle of thinning. Ive seen dermatologist and have had blood work and everything is normal. Lately Ive tried using rogaine foam and it made my scalp extremely itchy, is this normal? Im writing this post to hopefully find some advise to help..Thank you for any help..

Do you have photos?

If you are losing hair everywhere it sounds like Alopecia totalis.

wow 93 views and no one can even give any advice..

Im guessing guest views are counted. There are alot of ghosts (guests just reading) and lurkers here i suppose. Well here the proven methods are propecia, rogaine, nizoral, etc. Propecia might help you maintain and rogaine may help with regrowth. Norwood 6 huh? The earlier you start the better....Its harder to grow back than to maintain.

Well the itch is not proven to be related to male pattern baldness they can be two completely separate things so you might stick to shampoo for that. The hair loss I mean you need to use propecia and keep using it forever. There is nothing else really. Propecia takes 6-12 months to do anything so your not going to see anything in 2 months.
The odds of it being anything besides male pattern baldness are like < 5% I mean its silly to suggest to a guy with hair loss its anything other then male pattern baldness as much as we all wish it was as simple as taking a vitamin or some cheap supplement.
