Hair thinning - does it occur one strand at a time

I might've found a few hairs that are thinner than some other hairs, but overall that in that specific area, it all seems fine. It's only if I inspect closely and get pedantic.

If it was male pattern baldness or another hair loss condition, it'd be seen to affect more hairs than just a few?

That's miniaturization. They'll get smaller and smaller until there's nothing there.

But is it normal to find a few hairs that are thinner than the rest? They can't all be the same diameter?
