Hair System Not Compatible With Norwood 7?

These look great but all these guys appear to have Norwood 6 or even a bit less. If you end up with a Norwood 7 I'd imagine that you would not be able to pull off this full head of hair look and would end up having to go with the John Travolta receded hairline hair piece look which would probably motivate me to just use finasteride now as I could potentially maintain a receded hairline look with propecia with it being real hair and not having to deal with any associated troubles of having a hair piece.

Any one have a Norwood 7 and have a good hair piece like the ones in the videos?

There are guys wearing hair replacements who are completely slick bald. By NW7 you are talking almost a full headpiece, using just the natural hair at the nape of your neck and maybe your sideburns and temples if you still have any. Very large pieces like that can still look good, but the styles you can achieve are more limited - in particular it's hard to replicate temple hair with a hairpiece. I understand Burt Reynolds was NW7 by the peak of his career and he managed an OK look.

I just viewed a graphic of a NW6 and Norwood 7. A NW6 is clearly an example of the classic male pattern baldness horseshoe. A NW7........a NW6 with more recession around the horseshoe pattern. Covering a NW7 requires a larger topper. Easy to achieve. I do agree with Noah about the temples. It is possible to create temples but it does require considerably more precision during attachment. What further complicates temples in a hairpiece is the density. Hairpieces do shed hair. Since the density of the temples is low relative to the density of the hairpiece at the top, sides and back, any loss of hair at the temples becomes more noticeable. The same issue applies to very low density hair at the hairline, but, will likely not be as noticeable as at the temples.

I like the short back and sides look, that's what I'd want if I had a hair piece. The restored temple if it has length - which it would have to to be effective - would probably not be the look I'd be after.

I guess to rephrase my question: Is there anyone with a Norwood 7 with just a hair piece on top with their own hair on the back and sides - cut short - that looks good?

Hey I'm not at nw7 however my sides and back are thin and I find the best look I have is with short sides and back, longer top, which is the system. I'm really digging the undercut look as I've never been able to do that look pre system, yet Its not a haircut I'd want when I'm older .

I see myself in the future just moving to a larger system to compensate but fingers crossed my hair loss stabilizes at a decent Norwood .

Yeah, it looks like that's what it all boils down to: What Norwood will you end up with?

I feel like diffuse thinners are more likely than receeders to end up at Norwood 7, but maybe I'm wrong.

I think the short back and sides would look good at an older age too! One of the first returns on Google images is an old guy with grey hair with one, and it looks pretty good!

Would LOVE to see it!

I think people take the Norwood-scale to literally. I believe the NW7 figure is to show that there's zero hair on top and not really defining the hair on the sides. In other words, it's very individual how a NW7 is shaped.
