Yeah hair style is an issue for me, otherwise I wouldn't like to keep my current hair.

I am 24 norwood 1 or 2, already had hair transplant. So I basically don't look like I have alopecia but I do.

And I also have long curly hair, but I have always dreamed on having straight hair, I have flat ironed my hair in the past (before I became to lose it) and I look like a model.

But I don't know if its a good idea for a guy who suffers baldness and is under Avodart to avoid further hair loss should straighten his hair.

I was thinking on getting one of those Japanese hair straightening. Which is done in a saloon and needs retouch every 2-3 months.
However, this stuff is harsh on your hair and probably your scalp.
So I don't know, what do you think?

hey!

I have long curly hair too. Well it was curly until I started getting it Japanese thermal reconditioned (Japanese straightening)

What gets straightened is permanently straight. The regrowth has to get done, like every 6 months or so depending on how much it annoys you.

It wont make your hair fall out though. They apply the chemicals about 1cm from your scalp as if its done right on the scalp the hair bends at the root and BREAKS OFF! Scary. So in that sense it wont increase scalp problems. Ultimately if it means you have to manage your hair less because its straight it will probably help you keep more of it. Cause flat ironing all the time is evil.

Ok dude, are you also balding?. I am still afraid, I tell you this because 4 years ago when I wasn't balding, my GF flat ironed my hair, and it got permanently straight on the front (where I am balding), probably because the hair was started to get thiner and she aplied to much heat. The back where I have no problems re-curled after I took a shower.

But during the procedure I could feel like my scalp was burning it even made me cry, it was painful.

For what I understand, Japanese thermal reconditioning also uses flat ironing.

I really want straight hair, but I am afraid, are you sure it didn't make you lose more hair?.

Can anyone else contribute to this post as well?. Thanks.

OP, are you also on finasteride or some other hairloss treatment? I'd hate to see your hair transplant go to waste :(
