Does anyone have a recommendation for a hair specialist (dermatologist or doctor) who can help diagnose whether a massive shed is Telogen Effluvium or the onset of male pattern baldness. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am confused and diffused.

Thanks.

I believe that Dr Proctor is based in Dallas. Despite his name, he REALLY is a HAIR doctor.

I did find the website for Dr. Proctor, and then Dr. Limmer seems to be a hair specialist in San Antonio. Does anybody have any thoughts on either of them...and whether they diagnose as well as offer treatments?
Thanks.

i'm in austin too and have not come across a hair specialist as of yet. i went to a derm here (tom roark) and he was a total jackass. he did the typical 5 second glance at my hair, told me i had male pattern baldness, gave me a scipt for propecia, and sent me on my way. just wanted to give you a heads up. if you know of any other good derms or docs in the austin area, please do let me know. thanks!

Dr. James Herndon is a well-respected Dallas dermatologist.
