Hair seems to have stopped shedding

I've been on minoxidil and nizoral for almost 2 months, and this week it dawned on me that my hair seems to have stopped shedding, like 95-99% compared to before I started treatments. Before, whenever I seemed to so much as touch my hairline, it was pretty much inevitable that hairs were going to come raining down. Now, when I stand in front of the mirror in the well lit bathroom, I run my hand through my hair and see ZERO hairs fall out. It's too soon to tell if I'm experiencing any thickening or regrowth, and I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I'm hoping this could be a sign of a step in the right direction. I've also been using a volumizing conditioner every day, so I don't know if it might have something to do with the strengthening of the hair shafts...really hoping it's the minoxidil and/or nizoral working their magic on the follicles.

I've got an appointment with the derm on the 17th, and I'm hoping to add finasteride as well. I may start a thread in the stories section with pics to track my progress.

How much were you losing daily before?

Never took the time to count them like many members on here seem to, lol, but an alarming amount. Every time I would run my hand through my hair there would be a little rain of hairs. There would also be a bunch in my hat when I took it off. Wore a hat the other day, I believe there was 1 hair in it when I took it off lol.

You'll go through cycles of shedding and regrowth. I did. Minoxidil synchronizes the growth of the follicles so be prepared for em. But don't freak out, it's part of the process.

Cool, I wasn't expecting results so soon, but it's nice to know that what I'm doing may be having some kind of impact. Any small sign of progress in this game of uncertainty is super encouraging...desperation makes you thankful for the little things. Lol

I'm really happy for you ! I know what it's like to shed hundreds of hairs a day and a hair falling whenever you touch it.
I'm right now only on finasteride and want to add minoxidil and nizoral as soon as possible.
Could you please specify which minoxidil and nizoral products are you using and often you use them?
Also if you tell which volumizer you use that could be great.
I really hope you'll start seeing some regrowth soon as well!

Thanks!

minoxidil: I use the Walmart brand (Equate) 5% liquid. I apply it morning and night every day.

nizoral: http://www.amazon.com/Nizoral-AntiDandruff-Shampoo-7-Ounce-Bottles/dp/B00AINMFAC Usually 3 days a week. I massage it into my scalp and let it sit for 5+ minutes. The only shampoo I use besides nizoral is baby shampoo, which I use every day, including a quick wash on the nizoral days before I apply the nizoral. I figure it's best to make sure my scalp is as clean as possible to allow for maximum absorption of both the minoxidil and nizoral.

Conditioner: http://www.amazon.com/OGX-Conditioner-Thick-Biotin-Collagen/dp/B00ADR6M2U Started using it after someone on these boards(don't remember who) recommended it. I leave it in for about 3 minutes every day after I'm done with the shampooing. Seems to give my hair a significant visual boost, and is also FANTASTIC for countering the drying effect of the nizoral.

I buy all these products at Walmart

Yeah, I figure it would be for for both the good of the people on these boards, as well as being something of a support system for myself, as no one in my immediate surroundings is openly engaged in the fight against male pattern baldness...a good way to keep track of my progress(or lack there of), sides, etc.
