Hi all,

Just a quickie. I know it's generally accepted that after 10 years of a hair not growing, there is little chance that it will ever grow again. What I'm wondering is, at what stage is it considered to be no longer growing, i.e. does hair which has become vellus fuzz count, or is it just hair which has completely gone?

That's what I'm hoping...

I'm considering adding 0.5mg of dutasteride into my regimen, just to make sure I catch all the little buggers before my ten year clock runs out.

geminix, i also believe hair loss over 5 year can't be recovered. but it varies individually. it depends how sensitive your follicles are to DHT and how aggressive it is. for ex, if one losses his hair in 1 to 2 years, which is aggresive hair loss. i doubt that by year five hes going to recover alot of hair. on the other hand one who slowly losses his hair has more of a chance to recover more hair than the one who had agressive and sensitive hair follicles.
i believe it all depends on how aggressive your hair loss is and how sensitive your follices are to DHT.

Well I was NW4 about 10 years ago, and NW5(ish) by '98, yet I would say I'm close to NW2 now, not couting the hair transplant.

Hairs which I lost more than a decade ago are becoming terminal, and density continues to improve on a monthly basis.

Gemini where do you get the androcur and oxysvmen tabs? Did you get a prescription for that?

Yes, they are prescribed by my psychiatrist and then converted into an NHS prescription by my GP.

The Ovysmen is a contraceptive pill, the Androcur is an anti-androgen (i.e. blocks testosterone).

I'm not sure if they are beneficial to hairloss (I've read conflicting information), but I seem to have had a "better than average" response to the Finasteride.

hehe, I take three a day (Roughly double the amount of Oestrogen than a teenage girl has).

I'm also a 'C' cup.
