Hair Loss Web Series ("Going Going Gone")

Hey guys,

I've recently shot a 4 episode web series all about hair loss and one guy's numerous attempts to deal with his insecurity about it. I figured this would be a good place to post it as I'm sure many of you can relate!It's comedic, a very heightened version of myself, a little absurd at times, but I filmed a consultation with a real hair specialist but the rest of it I wrote/improvised. I have to ask, what is the point of this video? Make people laugh? Inform them by making them aware of our condition and its accompanying psychosis? Draw sympathy?

Forgive my critique but it feels as if the story lacks a sense of direction, of focus, which makes it unable to achieve the tragicomic effect you seem to be going after. That is to say, the video doesn't hammer on a specific aspect of its many themes hard enough and make the whole viewing experience feel diluted. Of course, there is only so much you can jam into fives minutes of show.

Also, the contrast between the somewhat down-to-earth consultation with a professional and the "home surgery" feels a bit forced. What could be missing are more events describing the increasing despair of the hairloss sufferer, driving him to such a final resort as wanting to perform surgery on himself.

I find the scenes themselves to be well shot however, if lacking a bit in fantasy. Basic doesn't mean bad though, sometimes shooting the scenes in a simpler way prevents any unnecessary distraction from the story (the opposite is also true: cf. any "Michael Bay" movie).

A good effort in any case. Cheers!
