This is my first post on this forum and probably my last too, I have been reading threads on this forum for nearly a year, I am just here to share my personal experiences with different hair loss products, feel free to voice yourself

My background:
I started losing hair 3 years ago when I was 20, receding temples, frontal thinning, no thinning on the crown yet. I have been using anabolic steroids for 2.5 years sort of on and off, T-400 and clen. male pattern baldness is in my genes, every male on my fathers' side are bald or almost bald before they were 35, and I have already accepted the fact that I will be bald around 30 unless i get a hair transplant. I have been on Minoxidil and Nizoral (Ketoconazole) for 1.5 years, and I have been on and off propecia, most of the time I use it to get off cycles, but i have been on 0.25 mg a day consistently for the past 3 months. I have also tried caffeine shampoo, pumpkin seed oil, biotin, saw palmetto, you name it I have tried it.

Minoxidil:
I think people have a misconception when it comes to minoxidil, if you are norwood 3+, then really just don't bother using it, because it won't do sh*t. Minoxidil is good for people between norwood 2-3 when you still have a lot of hair and at the early stage of balding. Minoxidil will help to slow down the balding, and thats really all it does, you have 1% chance of stopping male pattern baldness using minoxidil alone. For me, I started shedding for the first 6 weeks, i was losing around 100 hair in the shower, basically what it does is, it synchronises the hair resting and growing phase, so every3-5 months you will go into a massive shed, and that massive shedding phase can last as long as a month, after that it stops and you will see fine little hair coming out near the hairline or maybe the crown( i am not sure), but those hair will not become terminal hair unless you cure the root of the problem, DHT. Those new hair will be miniaturised and fall out again during your shedding phase. So I would say, it will help to slow down your hairloss, and help regrow fine hair, besides that it usually won't do much for you when it comes to male pattern baldness

Nizoral:
basically a shampoo that i used which contains, Ketoconazole. pairing it with minoxidil will increase the effectiveness of minoxidil slightly, and help to get rid of the handruff on your hair. But besides that I think it does f*** all, although some claims Ketoconazole blocks DHT, but you will need a lot of it, and it has to enter the blood stream, so I would say it's BS.

Biotin:
It helps you to grow your nail hair fast and long, except for the places that is affected by male pattern baldness, so ya...

Pumpkin seed oil:
Maybe help to slow down the thinning, but I don't see it doing much tbh with you, maybe it works for some people I am not sure

SP: It doesn't do anything for your hair and it lowers your sex drive, been on it for 3 months, if this thing works everyone would have been jumping on it, trust me and selling it for 300 bucks a bottle

Propecia:
I guess this is the one that most people are interested in, and it is a fairly controversial topic. I have seen and heard a lot about the sides effect and all those stories, I have gone through most of them, and here is my view from my own personal experience. I won't encourage you to get on it, but I am not completely against it. I do believe some of the stories are true, have long term permanent sexual sides effect, maybe only to a very few individuals, but to what extend is the question? Social media has amplified the side effects of propecia, you get a bunch of bald impotent guys screaming and crying about their stories on social media, trying to get everyone off it, from my view I see it as selfishness, they are salty about the only cure to their male pattern baldness has created more significant problems for them and its totally understandable. this is my experience with propecia, I am one of the lucky ones who didn't get very significant sides, maybe because of the anabolics and naturally being high in testosterone, however it did lower my sex drive only occasionally and painful balls at night occasionally, brain fogs do occur but rarely for me. Here are a few things i found out after being on it for 3 months, although the label says it blocks DHT, trust me this thing will lower your testosterone level too, to what extend is a different question, it depends on how much testosterone you have and how sensitive you are to the drug, and trust me this drug is bloody powerful, even on 1mg, I do my blood test once every 3 months because of the roids, so I definitely know what it does to my body. It stops male pattern baldness almost completely, it is the most effective hairless treatment out there. My recommendation for propecia would be, use it only as your last resort, try all other hair treatment first, minoxidil, PRP all those good stuffs (price for PRP will be very steep, so be prepared to drain your wallet), maybe some would actually be effective on you. When you have decided to be on propecia or finasteride, start off low maybe 0.25mg per day, but be consistent, you do not want to f*** around with your hormones. Also remember to monitor your hormone levels, check it before you take it, and check it again maybe 2 weeks after being on it.

Also, monitor how often you fab/ have sex, I can't find any scientific proof for this. But having sex and fapping too much will speed up your hair-loss, I am pretty sure about this one. I limit it to around 2-3 times fapping or f*****g a week, no more than that.

At the end of the day, it's just hair, if you have very severe sides from propecia, just get off it (really it is just hair). Tbh women don't give much sh*t about your look, as a man, it's all about wealth, knowledge, confidence and a big working dick. Good luck Lads, hopefully in 5 years time there will be some magical cure from Japan or Korea for us bald poor bastards (JK), you guys had better start saving up for that, i bet it won't be cheap. Peace.

Propecia is controversial because its pretty much unavoidable right now. Everyone wants to avoid it, but its the only thing that works. It works many times better then anything else, and its the only thing now that can prevent and stop male pattern baldness from progressing.
The american hairloss association recommends propecia as the first treatment to try. There is no reason to go against that because nothing else really works or we would all be using that instead.
Everyone is here to keep or grow their hair because they value it. What girls want is a totally separate topic, and not really relevant to male pattern baldness. I could tell anyone man or woman dont worry about grey hair, wrinkles, weight gain. Its not a big deal its just a cosmetic thing.
