My 2 year old son is losing his hair in patches all over his head. It began as small coin size patches that grew back quickly. Now we have no hair in the back at all and no regrowth since november 2009. We have seen the ped. and dermatologist. Not real happy with the results. Dermatologist seams quick to go with alopecia areata. The only test that have been done is a thyroid test. Doctor did give us clobetasol to rub on the spots. Have been using it for only 2 weeks with no results. I am curretnly looking into alternative reasons for hair loss and am finding many. I am going back to the docs and demanding more tests.
