Hair Loss In Crown Area Or Simply A Cow's Lick?

Hi, I'm a 16y kid, I'm worrying (maybe a bit too much) if I'm starting to have hair loss or I have simply a cow's lick near the crown area. My mother simply thinks I'm being silly and had quite a go at me for it, but I need your thoughy. My dad is not really bald (a part from 1 uncle that is completey bald) and neither is my mother's. Please. It's making me depressed.

it is normal to me. if u not sure go get a buzz cut because sometimes the bald spot just get covered by long hair
