Hair Loss Avodart And My Current Norwood

Hello,

I went to a dermatologist and I've been diagnosed with male pattern baldness, so I definitely have it.

I'm thinking about taking Avodart (dustasteride) and I don't care about sexual side effects, because I never masturbate and I will never have sex. What about other side effects? The only thing I'm afraid of is shedding, but will I experience shedding? If I start with Avodart, how many mg a day must I take? Must I take it on the same time everyday?

And my current norwood and hair thickness is like this anime character. What norwood is it?

You never masterbate and will never have sex? Wtf is wrong with you.

Feel like this post is a joke.....you post a pic of an anime character lol. Many people get a hairline kind of like that, and it never progresses. You should get your hormone levels checked if you never masterbate or have sex, unless you have the self discipline of a god.

I will take pictures tomorrow.

I don't masturbate or have sex, because of my religion. I'm a muslim.

But I heard Asian people most of the time get good results with DHT blockers, like Propecia or Avodart. I'm Afghan guy. Is it just a myth?

Studies done in Japan were extremely successful, so yes Japanese at least have very good results on it. Dutasteride is more potent and works better than finasteride, but higher chance of side effects, also the half life is longer, so more likely the sides could be near permanent.

Think the success rate of duta in Japan at halting hair loss at 2.5 or 5 years was 99%.

Recommend finasteride over dutasteride as a first line of regimen though. How does being Muslim mean you won't have sex? Muslims get married?

I'm not interested in any women, I'm like asexual. I focus more on islam than relationships.

What kind of side effects?

Once again. Should get checked out by a doctor. I don't think anyone is naturally asexual, but to each his own. Usually means something is internally wrong.

The more common side effects are sexual. Can also get gyno, more likely on dutasteride. Some people report brain fog and depression on these drugs, but don't know if these are actually documented side effects.

I understand.

I checked out your regimen, how are you doing with dustasteride?

Haven't updated my regimen. I quit dutasteride after like 3 months on it, was getting sexual side effects from it and not willing to continue a drug if I'm having sexual sides. Didn't have regrowth or anything but didn't really give it enough time. Back on finasteride now, have not had good results, not a good responder. Most people will respond well to finasteride though, and dutasteride usually works even better.

Those results are very impressive though that you posted. Have seen people with just as impressive results on finasteride alone though. Very unusual to grow back that much hair on either drug.

Didn't you notice less hair fall or thicker hair in those 3 months? Did you shed?

Do you think I can be a good dustasteride responder if:

-I'm not easily manipulated by the nocebo effect (most side effects are caused by the nocebo effect)
-I boost the results with the placebo effect (I believe in the power of the mind)
-I'm Asian (Afghan), or are Japanese people most likely the only lucky ones
-I don't care about sexual side effects
-I eat healthy and exercise

I don't really understand what determines who responds well, and its not really well understood in the hair loss community. Usually treatment earlier on in the male pattern baldness process results in better results, but this isn't always the case. Power of the mind is bs, won't help you. Japanese are the one's who were studied, I have no idea who all responds well, because many Caucasians have responded amazingly as well. Not caring about sexual side effects is super bold, but to each his own. In the future you may want a family, its not all about the now. Eating healthy and exercising won't do sh*t. I eat very healthy and exercise. Just hope you have good genes for finasteride/dutasteride, but if your hair looks like that cartoon characters you may not even lose much more hair without it. Pictures would help.

I noticed no change while on dutasteride. I had no shed. I had a huge increase in sex drive at first which was really nice, but it completely reversed at around the 2-2.5 month point.

Does anyone else recommend it?

I really want to start with dutasteride and I don't want to start with finasteride, minoxidil or Nizoral.
