Alright I am nearly 100 percent sure I have this - Seborrheic dermatitis. I use nizoral and it basically does nothing. So my next question is what role does it play in male pattern baldness and is Seborrheic dermatitis or male pattern baldness the cause of the actual itch? Has propecia helped anyone with there Seborrheic dermatitis or are they two totally separate issues?

Alternative treatments along the same lines as nizoral would be coal tar shampoo (as referenced above), athlete's foot cream, vaginal yeast infection cream, or even a probiotic regimen. All of the above have anti-fungal (ie: anti-Seborrheic dermatitis) effects, but each work to varying degrees for each individual person. Swap from one treatment to the next giving each a bit of time to see what works best for you.

Maybe try tea tree shampoos or something with piroctone olamine in it. There's one that combines both from Holland and Barrett if you live in the UK.
Also, using apple cidear vinegar as a conditioner may be helpful. ACV is very popular for seb derm. Look it all up though as I've not used it myself (yet).

I think my itch is partly being caused by male pattern baldness though too. Maybe its time I finally try propecia and see if my itch gets better. Im convinced if my itch goes away in a week or two after starting propecia will determine if it works or not because the itch is an integral part of the process for me at least.
