Ever since I started this about a year ago I thought hair direct was super cheap on their adhesives, tapes, and supplies.

Since they've spent a lot of money recreating their website it appears they've now nearly doubled the prices on adhesives and increased tapes approximately 50%
Overall, all of their products went up substantially.
That stinks!

They figure it out that selling supplies is a big business maibe more than selling hair systems

Yeah there a 10+ million dollar company.

I think they felt having low prices on the supplies would draw people into by their systems which are expensive... now they realize that doesn't guarantee people are going to do that and even if they do, why not make the money on the supplies as well

I wouldn't say they doubled, but they have gone up, and their shipping rates outside of the USA are pretty high.

I stopped ordering from them, and for small amounts, I order what I can from Amazon.

They don't seem to keep all of the Walkers products in stock. To make matters worse, they don't match Walkers when it comes to contours!

What Walker shows as a "C", Hair Direct shows as a "D", why? The response from HD "This is how we do it".

Confusing, and unnecessarily complicated, call it what the manufacturer calls it, and that's it.

HD for Walkers, UH Minis = $10.93, on Amazon (USA) $7.50, and cheaper shipping.

Also, their tape instruction videos are bad. You don't remove the tape from the roll, both sides, and handle it with your greasy fingers.

It's about double. Small half ounce bottle of ultrahold adhesive was $6.95 is now $12 the 1.4 Oz was approximately $10 and is now $18. Ultrahold tape I was paying $16 and it is now $27....
Shipping has always been a good thing as it's free for orders of $50 or more.

HD used to be significantly cheaper than Amazon. Just goes to show you the community must be growing and people are willing to pay now

Weird. Just now when they fucked up the whole shop by deleting all the reviews. There were big discussions underneath every product. Very valuable source of information for people it was.

I still might buy from them, though, because otherwise they maybe are going bankrupt one day, but I can't let that happen to that place. A library, a kindergarten basically for me. Valuable still as just a supermarket as well as you can rely on them.

I did notice that Amazon does not have all the variety of products. On the flip side, I have started to notice that they are not keeping all the shapes of all of the Walkers tapes in stock.

Unfortunately, not many options of where to buy.

In Israel, I have found only ONE store in Tel Aviv that sells some Walkers products, at a huge markup. And no one is selling Prohair Labs (Ghostbond).

One guy is selling a "Walkers Starter Kit" at some insane markup price, like double the cost on Amazon.

And even they are not selling every Prohairlabs' glue all the time unfortunately. I'm really interested in Newdemension and Transdermal, glues that noone is apparently using to my surprise.

They are "wig" glues, not sure what that means... I am GUESSING like some of the old school products that Walkers still sells, but not many of us on the hair system side use. Remember, we are just a part of a wider clientele. There are wig wearers and people in theatre and cinema that use these products also, as well as for hair extensions (probably a bigger business than hair systems).

Would they call an oldschool product "NEWdemensions"?

Here he uses Newdemensions to attach a regular lace system.

What are these oldscool products?

I've used Newdemensions and Transdermal and they are not much weaker, if at all, than Ghostbond XL or Platinum. Transdermal definitely tries to be even better regular Ghostbond, because it doesn't shine.

Instructions of Transdermal: https://imgur.com/kV6lst1

They also have this big comparison chart where every aspect is compared for different glues and Newdemension and Transdermal are listed as equals to the others: https://imgur.com/vviuKfV

I've also e-mailed with them about specific questions about them and they have not mentioned that these are oldschool glues.

When the product was created, named, and brought to Market, it was new

Damn, I was so sure that because those ones have no need to wait 5-7 mins before attaching, they were more developed glues. Yet, they say you need to not sweat 36h after applying, Ghostbonds don't have that requirement.

Hi baldbearded. Now that you are in the business, I think you can get a wholesale account on the walker website. Issue is delivery cost. 75us for Canada so not sure what it would be for Israel....
