Hair clippers cause traction alopecia?

Dr. Armani seems to think so and so do some people on here. I googled those two terms, clippers and traction, and the only real stuff I found about it was stuff that Dr Armani and his staff had said to a reporter. What do the experts on here think? Do hair clippers cause traction alopecia?

i don't see how, i mean i think combing hair daily would cause more than the monthly clippers

plus, you would see hair loss more on the sides then, at least thats where i would get clippers if i want it shorter, not the usual male pattern baldness places...

i can't see why they'd say this unless they don't want people to buzz their headsbecause they want more people to get transplants? some people might be happy with how they look with a buzz, even bald, and not want to get them. id on't know.

not often but i've been thinking about doing it down to like 1/32nd of an inch or something ridiculously closed to shaved with clippers, and that worry about TA(traction alo) is in my mind.

what if someone was using the clippers 2-3 times a week? i gotta feel like if the hair is very short already and someone is just cutting a fraction of an inch off it to keep it looking clean and near shaved, that there can't be THAT much pulling action going on from it.

This isn't true.

Armani (and the hair transplant industry in general, as well as the wig industry) HATES the popularity of the buzz cut and the shave. Its costing them millions of dollars. I imagine Armani put that out there (its bulllshiiiitttt) to scare guys nosing around about transplants to keep from buzzing, for fear that they may harm their donor hair.

yeah, that was 3 weeks ago. now it's getting long and disgusting again. my sides and back still grow faster than my top and front and the back of my neck looks like a forest. i hate spending 20 bucks every 3 weeks on a haircut

I hear ya...my hair grows like a weed still i usually cut it every 3 or 4 weeks and pay 20 bucks....it sucks but o well.

If you liked the cut..just do it again..

I usually get like a 2.5 on the sides and the top is trimmed to prob 1.5 inches long enough to spike

If your neck hair grows quickly...consider getting the back tapered instead of getting it squared off...it grows in much cleaner. If you are unsure what i mean google it.

Jayman,

Ive been shaving the back of my own neck for many years. I just put my hand back there as a stop point straight across the back and shave upwards to it. Looks pretty good, the hair over it drapes down over the shaving end point, so it doesn't have to be 100 percent perfect. Of course if you wear it really short and there isn't enough hair to drape over, you'd have to whip our a mirror and some electric clippers etc.

Armani comes out with some crazy theories, I think he has his own agenda's.
