On a forum with people as knowledgeable as they are on here, I'm surprised to never hear any mention of people having these done.
Let's face it - taking photographs is not reliable unless MAJOR changes occur (which is not generally how male pattern baldness works). The top doctors say that the only way to find out if you're balding and if it's either progressing or improving is to get hair bulk analysis or at least have a dermatologist 'map your scalp' with miniaturisation studies.
I can take a photo which makes my hair look good, or a photo which makes my hair look bad. It depends on so many different factors: - What is the lighting like have I just woken up (i.e hair all messy and matted), is it wet or dry or just a bit, which bit is just the natural parting or crown of the hair and which part is just a mature hairline, what angle is it taken from (the slightest angle change can make it look much worse - so much so that it's impossible to get the angle right every time and therefore track).
If anything - it's probably better to take a video from each side but this is obviously also not reliable.
Why do people who are so obsessed with hair loss at least not do it scientifically? Is it too hard to find a dermatologist or hair doctor who does these things?
Also, is there anyone here from the UK who has had it done by a doctor. if so, please message me as I want to see that doctor.
