hair bulb colours

i have been reading/ hearing a lot recently that the colour of the bulb on the hair that falls out your head caindicate whats happening to your hair. i was just wondering if anyone has or knows any facual information on this... most of mine are white bulbs, some have none and a few have really dark brown/black bulbs...

would be interesting to see if there is any information out there...

I've always heard that hairs with bulbs on the end are hairs that are actually shed, while hairs without bulbs are just pulled out by accident. I'm not sure about the color of the bulbs, though. I've always had white.
