Does finasteride hinder your ability to build muscle?

Does creatine monohydrate encourage hair loss?

Cheers.

You are being pedantic here.

If there are any differences they won't be noticeable.

Get your diet right (calories in, calories out) , lift heavy, your muscles grow. Who cares about 1 or 2% difference, you are not an athlete.
Not to mention there is no evidence to connect finasteride to muscle loss. I personally noticed no difference.

I can accept your point about finasteride. In fact, I think that enhibiting DHT levels allows you to build MORE lean muscle.

However, creatine is widely believed to increase DHT levels.

Anyway, another question - L glutamine, does it encourage hair loss?

Being a weight lifter myself (I'm far from impressive), the only thing I noticed while taking finasteride, which could have just been in my head, is that my muscles weren't as dense. I didn't lose mass, strength, or tone they just weren't as hard. Even if finasteride caused it, it was to a point where I could hardly notice. L glutamine is an amino acid doubt it does **** to hair. I feel that unless your on steroids all these supplements are pointless; Like kingdom said, get your diet right and lift you'll grow.

Don't really remember any difference in terms of muscle gains when I was on finasteride, however Creatine Monohydrate accelerated my hairloss something fierce! lol. I had no idea it spiked DHT levels at the time, I was completely ignorant at the time and used it while I was playing rugby at university. It was only when I noticed a lot more shedding after a few months that I actually did some research....

The dehydration it caused too, was horrible. Even if you were a Nw1 I wouldn't bother with it, but as a guy worried about hair loss it's a definite no no. Just stick to the compound exercises in your workouts and you'll get as huge and/or as lean as you like, no need for bs supplements like creatine which will f&ck up your body's natural chemistry.

Seeing how DHT is primarily responsible for that hard look muscles have, I can see why it might look a little misleading. With that, all that extra test floating around should make up for it. Cuts are made in the kitchen, and with a high protein diet (1-1.5g/lb) I don't see how being cut on finasteride isn't attainable. As for creatine monohydrate, I truly love it. The strength gains are great, and it gives me a drive to actually drink copious amounts of water throughout the day. Even if creatine were to spike dht levels, the only way for DHT to be there in the first would be 5AR which finasteride takes care of so I don't see how it could effect hair. Before you start looking into supplements I suggest what everyone else has as well- get your diet on track.
The bigger your engine is, the more gas it's going to need to work. Figure out what your basal metabolic rate is, and work with it. If you want to gain weight, eat more than BMR and for losing weight obviously the opposite. Search bodybuilding.com for a program that works for you and get to work.
Good luck. Cheers.

As for glutamine im not really sure it raises DHT...I have read it raises HGH though.
