Blake (the one on the right) is only three years younger but doesn't look like he's anywhere close to balding. Can male pattern baldness affect just one brother and not the other, or is it inevitable?

Since this picture, the older brother's hairloss has accelerated quickly.

"only three years younger" may seem like a short period of time....however....I have had high school buddies, college buddies, work acquaintances...with full heads of thick hair. Life goes on and I don't see them for 2 years...but when I do see them, their hair has transformed....or in other words dissolved. What is ironic is that most of my high school and college buddies made fun of my "high" hairline and told me I would be bald by 25(class reunions)....now they are NW3s and higher....propecia has kept me at a NW2 :)...and I'm 27 now....it is kinda awkward when I see them because they made fun of my hairline in highschool.....but I feel their pain and keep my mouth shut! So who knows, his bro my start losing tomorrow, next month, next year, etc. and look similar. Then again I have one brother (slick bald) and another (thick curly hair). We are all only a few years apart....ya just never know!

Only time will tell. I have 2 brothers who lost their hair around 20-21 yrs old. Still I remained with a massive mop of hair until recently when I started noticing diffuse thinning all around the top of my head just when I turned 24. So only time and genetics may tell. Btw we are only 4 years apart.

My 41 year old uncle is almost bald, his older brother at 53 and dad (81) both have good heads of hair (for their age) - (No bald spot, 'mature hairlines', general natural loss of the density they had a 20).
