GP not so helpful

hi all

i am 23 suffering from hairloss now, its gotten bad that i shaved it off
the temples have receaded alot and the front hairline too, thin hair all over

i done some research on treatments available, and im considering using propecia, now what i found was that i had to go to the GP to get prescribed?

my gp said i have to see a dermatologist first becuase hes not sure and has never prescribed finasteride to anyone before.and that you cannot just get a prescription for propecia, the appt i got is in 3 months but i dont have that long, i want to start my treatment straight away

any input will help me thank u

private dermatologist wants to charge me 180 quid for consultation

Got to be a way of getting it without perscription, have you tried ordering online?

Chancer was buying his finasteride from Boots Hair Retention Centre.

Maybe you can have a free consultation with Boots and get your medicines from there. It was £90 for 3 months supply last year, I think it went up.

You need to visit one of the bigger Boots.

Why? They cant tell you anything you cant learn on here. They just supply you with their recommended stuff and take commision.
Proscar, min and nizoral brought from other places is much cheaper.

Your GP must be a real dumbass, why can't he prescribe finasteride? All he has to do is read about it in the BNF.

If I were you instead of paying for a dermatologist just insist on a second opinion from another GP in the practice or just change your doctor.

iv had treatment done with DHI, can they prescrbe me finasteride without having to pay for a consultation?

That's ridiculous. If that were my gp i'd punch him right in the mouth. What the hell does he expect, a patient to lose 3 months of hair because he too much of a dumbass to know what finasteride is?
