Got the Proscar

Well my derm gave me a script for a years worth of Proscar, now all I need to do is learn the basics about splitting this and I am off and running. First off does anyone know of a good pill splitter or technique? I do not want to make the pills into dust. The derm suggested to split them in 4ths rather than 5ths but I don't know.

Got the script of 30 5mg tabs for $25 that should last 150 days or so if split correctly. I just don't know how to split the damn things.

cut it in 4ths with a straight edge razor. it cuts right through them . and take 1/4 a day with grapefruit juice.. it makes the 1/4 dose more effective and allows your body to absorb it better

Really do you prefer this method over the 1/5th split? Thanks for the info.

i take Buspar to calm me nerves and you cant take that med with grapefruit juice for some reason.

Does anybody feel that the 1.25 as opposed to the 1mg of Proscar is effective or not in either a good or bad way?

I personally don't think there is that much difference in the 1.0 and 1.25 grams per day. Using a razor, exacto knife, or even a sharp regular knife is the best way. I tried a pill splitter and didnt like it.

i would definitely cut it in fourths. although some people claim you'll have the same effects cutting it in 5ths. but i feel more confident cutting it in 4ths so in a few months if it didn't work, i don't smack myself and say ..sh*t why didn't i cut it in fourths instead of fifths..if after a year, i got good results on proscar, i would then consider cutting it into fifths

I have been on Propecia for 4 months so I know it works well for me, I guess forths is good also.

With fourths you almost end up with 1mg in the end because the volume will decrease slightly due to handling. I've noticed lots of chrushed residue while cutting and in the bottom of my bottle after I was finished.
