Just my 2 cents:
I split the 5mg Proscar into 4ths using a regular pill cutter and take one every day and sometimes skip a day. The splitting definitely loses some finasteride, so I figure I am getting about 1mg/day in the end.
To store the split pills, I use a black film container (Advantix preferably since it is very compact). This film containers are waterproof and obviously don't let any light in. Then I take a moisture-absorber (use the ones that came in my Propecia bottles) -- they're desiccator tabs that say "DO NOT SWALLOW" -- to sponge up any moisture.
I think this is effective -- but correct me otherwise. HairLossTalk.com, what do you think?
