Good results on Proscar?

Seeing some of the information claiming that cutting Proscar isn't a great idea because of the speed that it is released into the system (because the outside coating is compromised), I looked around the forum and noticed that most people with good results are taking the real thing, Propecia. I'm just sort of looking for reassurance from some people who have had good results with cutting Proscar. So if you have, please post and refute nagging doubts about the effectiveness of Proscar.

Thanks

Im no doctor but im pretty sure the makers of propecia are trying pretty hard to scare the uses of proscar to make the more expensive switch. Dr Lee a world expert, when asked about the difference between proscar cut and propecia said only the price.

Look if you can afford it and want peace of mind, then use propecia. Just remember to stick it out for a year to see if it works

Proscar Cut

WHen I was on Proscar I always use to cut it and found it still very effective. The only difference was that it was much cheaper than Propecia tablets. Now I'm on Dutasteride but funny thing is I honestly believe that Proscar did a better job especially around the frontal areas.

how do u guys cut it or what doseage do u take per day??

I use proscar(5mg of finasteride per tablet) to cut the tablet i use a craft knife which was purchased from an arts and crafts store for about $6) it's not that hard to cut the tablet into 5ths. I will cut 1 tablet put it in plastic wrap, use the pieces then cut another tablet.

How do you get a prescription for Proscar? If you have to get it from a doctor then what do you tell them? My dad is a dentist, I wonder if he is authorized to prescribe something like that which has nothing to do with dentistry...

Go to your Dr and tell him about Propecia. He will not have a clue what it is and he will look it up in his book. Then tell him about Proscar and he will see for himself that it's exactly the same but higher dose. Unless he is a jobsworth then he should give you the Proscar and you just cut it into 4 or 5 chunks....
