Good Clipper Number for top cut

I am currently a Norwood 2 with diffuse thinning. My hairline has gone real bad lately and can not spike up my hair like I used to. My hair is short but was wondering what clipper number would be good on the top. Would a #5 be good or a lower? Thanks.

why not a 6 on top, so u still have a little to play with, and a 2 at the sides so it makes the top look a lot thicker, I used to sport that a lot, it looks quite good, when styled right and all. good look

Right now I use a 4 on top and a 2 on the sides. The 4 is longer than you'd think but if you are looking to do some camoflaging at the front it wouldn't be so good.
