gonna shave head

my son, as posted on hair systems page got an $1,800 hairpiece, looks fine, yet it's a total mess keeping it up. he sweats the adhesieve turns to glue and he's quite sick of the whole thing already. it's been on for about 6 weeks, meaning he takes it off, re tapes, shaves his head, etc.
he cannot get intimate with a girl, he's kinda stuck. so he decided to make a big move, get another job which he has an interview and then shave it.

big question, since he has some hair on top and is gonna get the sides buzzed, do you think the tanning lotion regimine would be a good idea, it's affordable and makes sense to me.

what an experience this has been. i think i'm still in shell shock because he had a full head of hair a year and a half ago, and now all of this?

hope the hell he looks okay with a buzz cut, head shape is decent, but just wish he could see what he's gonna look like before it buzzed, can't take that back once it's done!

He'll look fine with a buzz cut and will get some confidence and lose all the hassle of a system and worrying about it.

Depending on his age he should thing about meds to see if he can get back some of what he's lost or at least stop him losing any more. Even with buzzed head the more hair you have the bigger shadow looks better than a horseshoe. Should be at least using nizoral shampoo and consider finasteride

Hair will grow back after shave/buzz so its not the end..

It is very difficult to take the clippers to your head when you've been trying to nurture whats up there, but hopefully he can take some comfort in the fact that there are now more men than ever sporting the shaved look (even those without hairloss).
Yes he'll have to get used to his new look and it wont be easy but I'm sure there's more peace of mind in shaving it than in having a false object glued to your head and worrying about your secret being discovered.
Keep on the meds if possible because a little stubble on a shaved head makes all the difference.

Yeah I think so too, the stubble is pretty important. You don't have to buzz/shave it every frigging day if you still got some hair on top. It's been 3 weeks since I buzzed and it still looks okish, although the thinning is obvious at least to me. I don't really care if people notice that I am balding, as long as they don't comment on my head shape/size. No comments yet, the buzz/shave is so common nowadays.

Actually I even think that one of my friends who has buzzed his hair really close for years (he still has got full NW1 but his hair is totally white and naturally thin) is glad that someone else of our group has gone the same way.

well if that is your real pic, you look fine. my son has dark hair and the scalp is gonna show. i keep thinking suntan lotion when he goes for the big plunge, would be the way to go, at this time..... oh sh*t, this is scary. thanks for all the intelligenced replys. he's working out at a low cost gym because, we all know that when pumped up a bit changes the self esteem....lose one thing, yet gain another.
