Hi guys,

My progress continues to go very well. My hair continues to fill in and I'm pretty impressed with the progress my crown area has made. It's always been thin my entire life but now for the first time ever I can comb my hair back above it and not have it look like there's a bald spot hiding underneath, where up till now i've been extending my part all the way back to it because it looked much better that way.

Still has a little ways to go before it fills in completely but it now looks the same as many other people with long hair, both men and women, so I'm getting pretty excited.

Anyway, the worst part of my hair is still the hairline, not so much it's location but just how thin it is right AT the hairline. I know that my hair has always recovered in sequences where one section will start thickening and densifying, then another small section will start, and on and on, but I really want to kick things into high gear to hopefully solidify my hairline once and for all.

So, I finally took the plunge and purchased a bottle of 2% nizoral from Amazon. It'll be a few weeks before it arrives but I've been using 1% nizoral every single day and am very happy with it. But I want to switch to 2% a couple days a week to see what happens, probably Saturdays and Wednesdays.

Considering my progress and regimen, do you guys think that I will see any added benefit from doing the 2% twice a week? I will still be using the 1% on all the other days of the week.

Oh here's a recent pic in case anyone wants to see:

I used to extend the part another 3 inches down the back of my head but now it almost looks normal!! Haha. I have high hopes for the back of my head in light of recent sudden progress. Amazing how all of the sudden, even after being on a regimen for many months, you will get new progress. I'm stoked!

Anyway I appreciate your input. Thanks guys!!

noob here, but just wanted to say congrats on the results. What product would you give the most credit to for helping?

My experience with nizoral is about 2 years on 1%. It has done a great job in thickening up hairs. In my personal situation, I have found that the hair and scalp will adjust to the harshness of it even with daily use. I have gone from everyday to about every 3 days. My hair has also gotten darker since starting nizoral. Good luck.

Thanks Kirk! I can't be certain but I'd probably have to say the Minoxidil... though I have been using the nizoral 1% since the very beginning (January 2011) so I'm sure that helped too. I didn't start on Fina until August last year but now that seems to be playing a big part too.

I noticed my hair get darker too as it improved, I'm wondering if that's because the shafts were thicker and less "translucent"? Just a dumb guess but it's a theory I had.

It took me a while to work up to 1% nizoral every day, when I first tried months ago it kicked my shedding up tremendously, so I backed off, then upped it again with more shedding, then backed off again, and finally as my hair improved after the initial shed of starting Fina I managed to use it every single day without any extra shedding.

I guess that's my concern about 2%... will I enter another shedding phase if I incorporate it twice per week? That scares me as I don't want to lose the great results I'm having but the other part of me says, based on my overall progress, that the shedding will only lead to more and better hair coming back afterwards. When you have a mane the last thing you want to see is it thin out, even if only temporarily...

Hence, my dilemma! :punk:

Yeah... I def agree that the shedding that comes from things like nizoral, and Min are a sign of good things to come. I guess as long as it's not related to miniaturization from DHT, then it's just a temporary cosmetic issue.

I have not started finasteride yet, but I'm wondering if you think it has any effect on the hairline? I've heard that it does not help out much in that area.

I don't want to be negative but I dont think you will notice any difference. You've been using nizoral 1% everyday...

Kirk - no idea about the hairline as that is currently my weakest spot. That's why I want to try the 2% nizoral. :)

Forero - thanks for your input, I figure I'll give it a shot though since I REALLY want to jump-start some hairline improvement. If nothing happens I only bought one bottle so I won't get another. I'm also doing minoxidil 4x per day on the hairline region.

I'm hopeful that since my crown area has shown sudden improvement, my hairline can too with the right "motivation". :punk:
