Hi:

I originally started using Dutasteride 7 days a week and I experienced the side effects (problems getting it up, etc) so I cut down to 2 dayts a week and all is well..

I've been using Dutasteride roughly 8 months, about 3 months going on 7 days a week.

My question is...with having reduced my amount, and my body being used to Dutasteride, if I go back to using 7 days a ewek would I still expierence the side effects? Has anyone tryed this, cutting back and going back on?

I'm thinking I should try increasing it to 4 or 5 days a week, instead of going full blown right off the bat.

Thanks!

i think maybe you should go to 4 days a week for like 1-2 months, just to see if the sides return. if all is well, then you can maybe go to 7 days

also, has it been helping your head?

I'll try tha. I have noticed improvement when using Dutasteride more frequently. I'll try using 4 times a week and see how I feel.

I found when I used Rogaine it made my hair thicker. However, it made my head soooo itchy I couldn't stand it. So from everything I've tryed, dutasteride seems the best for keeping hair and not loosing it. What products have you tried?

ive done propecia, rogaine, nizoral 1%, and spironolactone cream. i can't really say much about the nizoral or spironolactone. whether or not they help, i dont mind sticking with them.

i think the propecia slowed the loss down for the last 4 years. and then the male pattern baldness accelerated and i jumped on rogaine. i experienced good regrowth for 3-4 months, and then seemed to start losing again. it's stablizing a bit, i think, but i feel like i'm still gradually losing. it probably won't look too good in 2 years time. this is why i'm thinking about jumping on dutasteride and use it with the finasteride (probably 4 finasteride and 3 dutasteride a week)

That's not a good option.
I would recommend Duta 5x a week and keep with minoxidil, but use Spectral DNC (if you can afford).
Using finasteride + dutasteride isn't a good thing...

why is it not a good thing ?
Finasteride and Dutasteride have the same goal: Block 5 alpha reductase. As Dutasteride has a longer half life than Finasteride in your body, when you take Finasteride it will compete with Duta and that's really not a good thing, it's not a health care thing, but it'll make both drugs less effective.

Dutasteride 0.5 is more effective than Finasteride 5mg, if you take Duta daily you won't need to use Finasteride.

Only side effect I got from dutasteride when I was originally taking it every day was a slightly less hard errection but one that was still "good to go" so to speak.

When I cut down to 3x a week this problem disappeared.

After a year I went back to every day and I swear you could have someone's eye out with it! No problems what so ever so yes I think your body can adjust to it if you're using a lower dose before moving up to the full one.

Although I could be completely wrong as this is just my experience.

Good point.
Also, the worst thing you guys can ever do is be like:
First month dutasteride 0.5 everyday
Second month finasteride 5mg with dutasteride 0.5 everyday
Third month only finasteride 5mg everyday
Fourth month dutasteride 0.5 EOD
.
.
.

That mess up your body so much!!
