Does anyone have experience with minoxidil from Murray ave without alcohol or ppg, but glycerin instead? My hairline is itching and receding still and I can't wait anylonger to see if dutasteride is going to help it since it hasn't yet. Idk how effective glycerin would be, but I can't use ppg or alcohol because of my extremely sensitive scalp

Glycerin wont irritate your scalp, but its incredibly sticky, if your hair is good enough it can act as good hair gel.

Ziggy your still experiencing scalp itch after being off finasteride and switching to dutasteride ?? I'm literally following the same path as you I just had to quit mino and will continue finasteride it's only been two days but my scalp is still itchy and flakes a lot of dead skin cells

Same sh*t is happening to me with their formula. It happens with the RU too. Must be the PG. I have dandruff like crazy now. I have never had dandruff in my life.

What's up guys. Youngguyhairloss, yeah it's weird.. I had some insane reaction that was either reflex hyperA or dermatitis/folliculitis caused by minoxidil or a combo of both.. My scalp has never been the same since dude. I can't even put hair spray in my hair or my scalp itches and stings and my hair sheds. It's crazy as hell lol. I'm going to my derm Friday morning to maybe get a biopsy because I think I have some actual scalp disorder besides male pattern baldness because realistically dutasteride should be halting my loss especially at 6month mark.

Buckthorn, did you switch over to glycerin formula? Glycerin should help hydrate the scalp a bit. Murray ave makes minoxidil without alcohol or pg and just glycerin instead. Very appealing, however I have all my funds in order for a transplant and am 75% ready for rahal to sort my hairline out once and for all.

man that is nuts... you still have that constant itchy scalp ? im giving minoxidil a rest for a few weeks if that does not work ima have to quit finasteride and just use minoxidil... maybe ill go and get a scalp biopsy as well

Congrats man, Rahal is an amazing hair transplant surgeon. Are you not concerned about further loss after this hair transplant? My hair line is a complete mess, but I am scared as hell to get an hair transplant right now. I have to either a) stabilize all loss with 100% certainty and fill in remaining areas or b) lose enough to the point where I have zero confidence in any treatment working for me, and get a huge transplant in complete disregard for the remaining **** hair I have left. I am still using the cream. I am under the assumption that the cream doesn't have PG in it?? ****, does it?? I am all backwards. I called them on monday, and I swear the only reason why I reordered it was because she indicated there was not PG in the cream....

ziggy, have you looked into Telogen Effluvium? You should get a small biopsy to confirm this is not your problem. I know for fact now that finasteride gave me horrible Telogen Effluvium for like six months. Whenever I get Telogen Effluvium, my scalp is a mess. itching, burning, crawling ants... it's f*cking torture.

It's really just my hairline. It stings where the minoaturized hairs are. Very odd

I was very concerned about further loss and still am, but I mean I'm young and want to not be depressed for a couple of years. Sick of wearing hats and hiding from wind. It's really ruining my life and this is really the only opportunity I'll have to get the transplant with work and stuff, ya know?

As for stabilization, for me that probably won't happen. I guess my receptors are just too sensitive to androgens in general so even with low DHT, I still lose. dutasteride is hailed as a half assed cure for a lot of people, but it doesn't give me sides or anything.

Also, I did look into Telogen Effluvium and definitely had it at one point, but when I quit finasteride, my crown went horrid so fast and that became where my hair shed the most. Funny because my hairline pain actaually subsided a lot when I quit finasteride.

But yeah, I would wait like you are saying for the transplant, but I only have this window of oppertunity before life gets in the way.

By the way, you have to ask for the non pg/alc formula. I emailed them and requested one without and they said they make a glycerin formula. I'm probably beyond minoxidil Savin me now so I doubt I'll even try it

Just use their higher formulas (12.5% or higher), and make sure you get hydrocortisone with them. Because if you don't, sometimes
something in their medication can cause your hair to fall out. Happened with me before.

What do you mean something will cause your hair to fall out?? I have been losing a lot of hair lately and I cannot pinpoint what the hell it is... Why would they sell a hair loss formula that causes your hair to fall out??? Someone has to know what's up....

Why would topical vitamin E cause that much shedding?? IDK man, my hair is really getting thin quick, to the point where it's see through everywhere and I need to figure out if this is the culprit. Perhaps, it's just actually working and kicking all those telogen hairs back into anagen, because they ARE all different sizes and thicknesses. How awesome would that be?? I just reordered it with only 15% minoxidil, AA, RA and hydrocortisone. I just want the high minoxidil percentage. I have a feeling it might be finasteride that's f*cking me, as usual.
