She claims if I shave it with a razor I will look like an alien.

I say if I let the horse shoe grow I will look like a grandfather.

Also she doesn't like facial hair, but I don't really like facial hair either.

What should I do?

Ask her whether she would rather you be happy in your own skin or not.

Do whatever you feel better with.

Not particularly nice of her really to say that. Maybe just do grade 3 or 4 and keep it that length by shaving regularly.

You realize that unless you have light hair or dark skin it doesn't matter if you shave it. You will still be able to see the shadow. You should do whatever you feel most comfortable with though. Its your body.

Do with what you feel comfortable - shave it and grow a beard. She'll get over it. It's your body in which you have to be 24hrs a day.

Or tell her to get your favorite hairstyle. Dye her hair like platinum blonde or something. Let's see how she likes that.

Shave it, don't worry about a bit of shadow coming through either, a slightly visible horseshoe will not negatively affect your appearance if you're bald anyway. It's just maintenance though, if you have a thick horseshoe flailing about, you'll probably stick out more.

Personally I would shave head and grow beard. Many of my friends has done that and I must say it looks damn good. I was going to do that 3 weeks a go but my sister who cuts my hair refused to cut me bald and said that I should just keep my mohawk look because my balding isn't that bad yet ( I don't have deep widows peaks just a bit recession at sides and thinning at middle.

I've been on big 3 now 10 days and I must say my hair looks thicker and the middle which have been losing it's width seems the get wider already! I don't know why because the regimen shouldn't show results earlier than 3 months of use.

I know this can be only in my head but I'm pretty excited to post my 1 month pics when the time comes.

If you think about it, some people with great hair choose to shave it all off. None of them choose to shave all but the back and sides.

What do you mean by shave exactly? I think that a grade 1 looks better than a bic'd head. If thats what your GF means I'm with her.

tell her to keep her nose out,
shaving it will be less embarrassing

You don't have to bic it to the point where your remaining hair is invisible; even a horseshoe can lend a little help to framing your face. Buzzing it with no guard usually looks good on male pattern baldness affected heads, especially if there are a few hairs up top.

I've spoke to some of the girls in the office (and done a little bit of digging) concerning your dilemma.

1. Most of the girls (especially the younger secretaries) said that they preferred a shaved head to horse shoe, not only did they say they liked the 'feel' of a shaved head but they said it was a mark of confidence.

Only a guy with balls is going to shave his head.

2. I found this interesting study - The evolutionary significance and social perception of male pattern baldness and facial hair

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/ar ... 9595001301

In essence it says that men with decreased cranial hair are seen less aggressive and more socially mature, whilst a beard increases perceptions of aggression.

So if you've gone past the point on no return (horseshoe) shave it off, grow a beard and experience no net change in how people perceive you. RESULT.
