Hey fellow sufferers,

Just a quick question for ya.

I have been to the doctor to renew my Finasteride prescription 3 times now. Each time I've gotten a different type of finasteride. First was generic proscar, the second type I can't remember right now but I know it was different, and today I got auro-Finasteride.

I know the active medicine is Finasteride so it should be okay, but just curious if this could be a negative in any way at all?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

There should be no difference.

So it's been over a week on this new Finasteride.

The pills are very different. More powdery and don't split as well at all

It almost crumbles into powder when I split them. My old pills were allt harder and more solid.

And now I'm starting to shed a lot more the past couple days

Any thoughts on if the pills could be no good

Hairloss is continuing especially the hairline. Going from Norwood 2.5 to a 3 really quick. My semen has also went back to normal. Not watery at all anymore.

Don't know if this is a shed or if i switched types of finasteride too many times or what.

Super depressed lately as I was maintaining before my last switch.

Anyone here on auro Finasteride? Blue 5mg pills?

This is what i do, my dr writes my script for brand name proscar and i split it into 5 semi equal parts. Its about a dollar a day for brand name finasteride. No more worries, i know all finasteride SHOULD be the same but, myself i wont risk it. If you think the different generics are negatively affecting you id switch to brand. Even if they are not, you'll always worry they might be. So if for no other reason than piece of mind id switch to brand name Propecia if your rich lol or brand name proscar if money is an issue

Idk how your script was written, but you may be able to just tell the pharmacy you need brand name. They ll probably have to order it but it takes 1-2 days. Keep in mind actual Propecia is like 4 bucks a day, so proscar and cutting is the way to go imo. Also if the pharmacy cant change your script, just call your dr and tell them to call in brand name proscar to the pharmacy. Don't let them tell you its all the same. Trust your gut

Yeah, run it by the pharmacy I don't think your doctor can really have you stick to generics if you want brand name

The male pattern baldness itch is back. Hairline and crown are losing very quickly now. Shedding like crazy.

Been a month since I've gotten this Finasteride. Around month 6 the hairline loss was slowing down and the crown was maintained and thickening everywhere else.

Beware of getting different types of finasteride everyone! This is my nightmare coming true. 10 months of treatment gone to waste.

Going to try to get proscar again or avodart tomorrow.

So I went to the doctor again today. She pretty much dismissed dutasteride and prescribed proscar. I explained the whole 'auro-Finasteride' thing to her and she said sometimes the brand name works better than generic. She also mentioned how no matter what I do I will eventually go bald.. Thanks tips, trying to slow it down here.

So I went to the pharmacy attached to the doctors office and he brings out auro-Finasteride in a pill container again. I explained to him my situation, how proscar was working for me and how after switching to auro finasteride I lost ground and the side effects went away.

He seemed to understand, said how brand name proscar could work better for me. He offered to order me in some that comes in the package. I accepted and will be picking it up tomorrow.

Thanks for all the replies!
