Getting A Buzzcut With Thinning Hair?

I have reached insanity when it comes to my hair loss. I can't focus at work now because I keep looking at the light shining off the spot on my head.

Would a very short buzz cut work if I'm very thin in the front? Or would it be too patchy? Think Norwood 3-4a for reference but with a thin hair in the front.

I'm close to throwing in the towel on this or getting a transplant, but would I be too young for one at 22?

If you're diffuse on top, a buzzcut might be a bad idea. Especially if it hides temple recession.

A lot of people might disagree, but a comb over looks more natural, up to a point.

Yeah I've got temple recession, so I guess a buzzcut is out for me.

Do you think going with a skin fade to a 0 on the sides and scissors to clean the top would be okay? I know I'm fighting a losing battle, but the few days of confidence I have after getting a very short haircut are so worth it to me.
