my uncle and grandfather on my moms side have receeding hairlines, they both went to nw4 but seem to have stayed there for a while, leaving very few thin hairs at the front that never fall out. my concern is, if i have the same pattern hair loss as them, will i lose my hair at the same speed as they did? or could i be bald by 25 when they were bald by 35? i'm just wondering if i can use old pictures of my family to figure out how many years of hair i have left, or if it would be inaccurate.

There is no guarantee you will follow in their footsteps.

The main reason for this is largely dependent upon the expressiveness of your genes which may be exact or partly exact by way of inheritance.

Furthermore there are other variables in your life that are unique to you only that will and can determine how expressive your hair loss gene may be.

Remember that you are a product of your environment and in particular how your cells perceive the environment both internally (biologically) and externally.

I would not concern yourself with previous family history, but rather if you have or are experience hair loss then you need to focus on combating it rather than drawing comparisons that may only give you indications that are inconclusive at best.
