I've been reading up on this test to see if it's worthwhile to take.

This is what I've gathered from the test:

1. The test just shows how sensitive you are to androgens.
2. If you have a higher sensitivity to androgens, you will lose hair at a faster rate.
3. If you lose hair at a faster rate, you will have more hair to regrow. Thus, you have a "stronger response" to finasteride.
4. If you lose hair at a lower rate, you will regrow hair at a lower rate because your follicles are less sensitive to androgens and there's less to regrow.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but what I gather is that if you are able to look at your family members with hair loss (fathers, uncles, granfathers, brothers) and determine how rapidly they lost their hair, you shouldn't need to take this test.

Has anyone had any experience with this test?

thanks for sharing.

I Do believe androgen sensitivity is everything when it comes to how affected we are to male pattern baldness. Next in line being inflammation, and T;DHT production on inducing hair loss.

Iv'e taken Tren acetate, commerically the strongest androgen:anabolic on the market with a rating of 500:500 compared to testosterone at 100:100, and orals such as dianabol that are highly androgenic and haven't noticed a difference in my male pattern baldness. That being said, the fact that their is not much androgen receptors in my scalp could be the sole reason why I haven't experienced any additional hair loss. Finasteride has no affect on tren acetate, and drugs like Dianabol are DHT derivatives so finasteride cannot hault male pattern baldness since their is no 5ar conversion to begin with. Which leads me to believe that even with high amounts of androgens within the body, as long as their is not a high affinity for DHT receptor sensitivity on the scalp, one could safely say their hair loss will be very slow and gradual. Of course as I mentioned earlier, inflammation, stress and so fourth also play a minor role.

Is this true that the finasteride response tests only go by the AR gene? I'm homozygous for A on the AR gene, so does this mean finasteride is useless for me?
