Hello, I am 20 years old and have recently began to get sort of a obsession with hairlines and began to worry about my own. My father has a full head of hair but it looks as though it’s starting to thin. He’s 50. My uncle has gone bald at 40 and my other uncle has a full head this is the same situation on both sides of the family. My grandfather on my mothers side has gone bald before he passed away from illness at 55 and my grandfather on my fathers side has a full head of hair at age 88. I just wish to know why I believe my hair is leaving me. It’s very thick, my barber constantly calls people over to show off how thick my hair is. I have a lot of hair and each strand is very course as well. I just am losing my mind and need help please anyone help me out, I’m 20 I’m catching it young if it is leaving me so I can set an appointment up with a derm to see options. I’m scared and it keeps me up at night. It’s just a physician trait it won’t destroy my health but it is causing me to fall in a depression. Anyone help please and thank you. I will attach pictures, the inversted peak has stuck with me since I was born and I have always been made fun of for it, I show no thinning in my crown or the top of my head. I have always hade that inverted peak and I have been told it’s a birth mark of sorts and I’ve been told it’s something to do with when I was born might have gotten a cut or something I’m not too sure I’ll attach a picture of it as well

I don't think you should be worrying about hair, doesn't look to me like you're balding and we can see that you have that high forehead since you were a child so...

Lol! If you obsess over something, you'll be sure to find something wrong with it, no matter what it is. Maybe you could post a picture of what your hair looked like before you think your 'hair loss' started but honestly I think you have nothing to worry about at this point.

I just got a haircut today and they took way more off the top then expected and the stylist said she was “blending” and used clippers right on the back of my head and this happened, this doesn’t ever look this way and I’m confused if it’s her messing up on the haircut or thinning and I should see a dermatologist regarding this, I look at the back of my head through a mirror practically every other two days to see if there’s any change and this doesn’t seem normal to me? It’s not my crown it’s the right side of the back of my head and I’m quite confused. They’ve never used clippers in the back and she went very high with them this time so I’m a little concerned and confused I’m sorry I’m back on this forum I’m just a constant worried about this and everyone tells me it’s okay but I always have this thought in the back of my mind that it’s not.

From different angles my entire back of my head looks like transparent even because I get a 1 all around the side and leave the top long but she used a 1 buzzed around and scissors on that spot so I don’t know

Gary Fergurson is right, nothing wrong.

The only thing is this image about your worlh
b6b79f1e-80f9-4f01-b0e9-1205651caf09-jpeg.jpg

it is yours, and is natural, is the cowlick, in your case located in this zone. Please grow your hair a little and don't worry.
IMO, the only method to make a baldspot in your case is apply repetitive tonsure in this area.
You have a thick and dense scalp hair
